Graphic Designer (Packaging & Visual Identity)

About us
Limestone Estate is a small atelier in Java focused on material, scent, and daily ritual. Our products are produced slowly in limited batches. We believe restraint is harder than decoration. We're building a visual language that feels permanent, quiet, and tactile.

Role Overview
You will own the visual output of the brand - packaging, printed matter, website visuals, and product presentation. You will work closely with the founder to define a long-term visual system that can last years, not trends. This role is not about volume production. It is about taste and consistency.

Responsibilities :

Packaging Design
- Develop and refine the soap packaging system
- Prepare print-ready artwork and production specs
- Work with printers and material vendors
- Maintain consistency across variants

Brand Visual System
- Build typography hierarchy
- Create label structures and layout logic
- Define photography direction and references
- Develop long-term visual guidelines

Digital & Communication
- Design website visuals
- Social media visual direction
- Launch material & printed collateral

Production Supervision
- Attend print checks when necessary
- Approve material samples
- Maintain visual quality control

We Are Looking For Someone Who
- Understands minimal design and negative space
- Has strong typography sensitivity
- Prefers timeless aesthetic over trends
- Pays attention to material and printing detail
- Can accept iterative refinement

Bonus:
- Experience in designing packaging
- Print production knowledge
- Editorial design background

R&D - Personal Care Formulator

About Us
Limestone Estate is building a high-quality personal care and lifestyle house rooted in land, material, and ritual. Our products are manufactured using locally sourced raw materials, with an emphasis on Javanese resources that thrive abundantly in the limestone regions of Wonosari.

Role Overview
You will be responsible for developing and stabilising all core formulations of the brand, starting with soap, body mist, hair perfume, and textile mist. You will collaborate directly with the founder throughout the development process, focusing on sensory quality, longevity, and environmental stability in tropical climates. This role is closer to a craft laboratory lead than a factory R&D role.

Responsibilities :

Product Development
- Develop and refine triple-milled soap base formulations
- Optimise hardness, lather structure, and rinse feel
- Stabilise fragrance performance in high humidity
- Conduct curing and ageing studies
- Design future body care formulas (mist, hair fragrance, textile mist)

Testing & Quality Control
- Design batch testing protocols
- Monitoring sweating, cracking, oxidation, and colour stability
- Maintain formulation documentation and batch logs
- Establish repeatable production standards

Ingredient Research
- Evaluate raw materials (oils, butters, fragrance carriers)
- Improve material compatibility with milling process
- Support sourcing of high-grade halal-compliant ingredients

Production Collaboration
- Work with small-scale production operators
- Train the team on handling and curing discipline
- Continuously refine process efficiency without compromising quality

We Are Looking For Someone Who :
- Has hands-on experience formulating soaps or personal care products
- Understand raw material behaviour (not only recipes)
- Enjoy slow iteration and problem-solving
- Is detail-obsessed and patient
- Can work in a small team environment
- Is comfortable working outside a corporate structure

Bonus but not required :
- Experience with milled or hard soap systems
- Cosmetic chemistry background
- Stability testing experience in tropical conditions
